Searching for the best robot vacuum Malaysia has to offer under RM1,500? It is one of the big home items people wait for 11.11 to buy.
They are also the category with the biggest gap between the marketing and what it is like to own one.
Here is what matters in a Malaysian home, and how to pick the right type for yours.

First: will it even work in your home?
Be honest about three things before you spend anything.
Do you have raised thresholds? Malaysian homes often have them at the wet kitchen, the bathroom and sliding-door tracks. Robots under RM1,500 climb up to about 2cm (20mm). Anything higher and the robot stops being automatic and becomes a thing you carry around. Measure your highest step before you shop.
Is your floor mostly tile? Good news. Tile is the easiest surface for these, and the mopping actually works on it. Thick carpet is where cheaper models struggle.
Do you have more than one floor? Most models with LiDAR can save a map for each floor, but you still have to carry the robot up the stairs. Two floors means carrying it, or owning two.
If you live in a single-level condo with tile throughout, a robot vacuum is one of the most satisfying appliances you can buy. If you live in a three-storey terrace with thresholds everywhere, keep your expectations low.

The features that matter
Navigation. This used to be the big one. Now it is mostly sorted.
- Random or gyroscope. Bumps around or drives in rows without a map. Misses spots and cannot do no-go zones. You still see these from smaller brands. We would skip them.
- LiDAR. Builds a proper map, cleans room by room, and lets you set no-go zones in the app. Every Shopee Mall model we checked for 10.10 had it, even the cheapest ones.
Suction. Models under RM1,500 now list 5,000Pa to 20,000Pa. For tile and thin rugs, any of these is enough. Higher numbers help with thick rugs and pet hair, but do not pay extra just for a bigger number.
Mopping. There are two types at this price.
- Flat pad. Drags a damp cloth. Useful on tile for dust and light marks, but it is not mopping the way you mop.
- Rotating pads. Two pads that spin and press down. Noticeably better on grout lines and kitchen floors.
Also check if the mop lifts. Most cheaper robots cannot lift their mop, so you take it off before the robot reaches a rug.
The dock. This is now the big decision. The dock is the base the robot goes back to. When you compare the best robot vacuum Malaysia stores sell under RM1,500, the dock decides how much work is left for you. There are three kinds.
- Charger only. Charges the robot. You empty the bin and wash the mop pads.
- Auto-empty base. Sucks the dust out of the robot into a bag. You change the bag every few weeks to a few months.
- All-in-one station. Empties the dust, washes the mop pads and refills the robot with clean water. You fill and empty two water tanks.
App and no-go zones. If you have pet bowls, a standing fan or cables on the floor, no-go zones stop being a luxury very quickly.
Features to ignore
- Voice assistant support you will use twice
- Camera-based obstacle avoidance at the cheap end. It is unreliable, and it is a camera in your house
- Paying more just for a higher Pa number
- “AI” anything, with no explanation of what it does
The three tiers under RM1,500
A note on prices: 11.11 prices can change several times in one day. The price at 8pm, at midnight and after 2am can all be different. So we show a rough starting price for each tier, not exact prices. Tap the button to see today’s price.
Tier 1: Robot only (from about RM600)
What you get: LiDAR mapping, app control, a flat mop pad (a few models have rotating pads), and a charging dock.
What you still do: Empty the bin every one to three runs. Wash the mop pad by hand.
Suits: Studios and one- or two-bedroom condos, first-time buyers, and anyone who does not mind a little upkeep.
Brands to look at: Xiaomi, Roborock, Ecovacs.
Tier 2: Robot + auto-empty base (from about RM1,000)
What you get: Everything in Tier 1, plus a base that empties the robot’s bin into a dust bag.
What you still do: Wash the mop pad by hand. Change the dust bag every few weeks to a few months.
Suits: Homes with a lot of dust, sand or pet hair, and people who hate emptying bins. If you mostly want a vacuum and mop the floor yourself, this is the one.
Brands to look at: Xiaomi, Deerma.
Tier 3: All-in-one station (from about RM1,300)
What you get: Auto-empty, plus a station that washes the mop pads and refills the robot with water. Usually rotating mop pads that lift on rugs.
What you still do: Fill the clean water tank, empty the dirty water tank, change the dust bag.
Suits: Mostly tiled homes that want mopping every day, and busy households.
Perlu diingat: Drying. In our humid weather, damp mop pads left in the station can smell. Look for hot-air drying, or take the pads out after each run. Also measure the spot for the station. Some are big, though compact ones made for condos exist.
Brands to look at: Xiaomi, Ecovacs.
Above RM1,500, you start getting stronger suction, heated mop washing and robots that climb higher steps. If your bathroom kerb is over 2cm, that is where you will need to look.

Which tier suits your home?
The best robot vacuum Malaysia homes can get is the one that fits how you live. Find the line that sounds most like your home.
| Your home | Look at | Why |
| Studio or small condo, mostly tile | Tier 1 | Small area, so the bin is quick to empty |
| Condo with no space for a big base | Tier 1, or a compact Tier 3 | Measure the spot first. Compact all-in-one stations exist |
| Big single-level home or terrace ground floor | Tier 2 or 3 | Bin fills fast. Look for a 5,000mAh+ battery |
| Pets or long hair | Tier 2 or 3 | Hair fills the bin fast. Look for “anti-tangle” brushes |
| Mostly tile, want daily mopping | Tier 3 | The station washes the mop for you |
| Parquet or wood floors | Tier 3 with hot-air drying | Low water and dry pads protect the wood |
| A few rugs | Tier 3 (mop lifts), or remove the pad | Stops the rug getting wet |
| Bathroom kerb or step over 2cm | Above RM1,500, or a small ramp | Robots under RM1,500 climb up to about 2cm |

The running costs nobody mentions
- Side brushes, every 3 to 6 months
- Main brush or roller, every 6 to 12 months
- Filters, every 3 to 6 months
- Mop pads, every 3 to 6 months
- Dust bags (Tier 2 and 3), every few weeks to a few months
Budget roughly RM100 to RM400 a year for parts, depending on the brand and how many parts you replace. As a guide, Xiaomi parts cost about RM25 to RM100 each, and Roborock parts about RM70 to RM250 for a single part or a set. Dreame Malaysia’s official store sells each accessory pack at RM79.
Before you buy, check that replacement parts for that exact model are actually sold by Malaysian sellers. This is the best single reason to stick with a brand that has a local presence instead of the cheapest unbranded unit in the search results.
What to check on the listing
- The real price. Some banners show the monthly instalment in big print. The actual price is the smaller number above it.
- What is in the box. Check whether the price includes the dock or station shown in the photos. Some brands sell the same robot with and without one.
- Threshold climbing height in mm. Compare it against your actual thresholds.
- Malaysian warranty and service centre. Not just “1 year warranty” with no local address. Many big brands give 2 years on their official Mall stores.
- Replacement parts. Search the model name plus the word brush and see if anything comes up.
- Plug type. Should be a UK three-pin. If the listing photo shows two pins, expect an adapter.
- App language and region. Some grey import units are locked to a China server region.

Soalan Lazim
Do robot vacuums work on Malaysian tile floors?
Very well. Tile is the ideal surface for them, and the damp mop is genuinely useful on it.
Can a robot vacuum replace mopping?
No. It cuts down how often you need to mop properly, for many homes from twice a week to once. Treat it as upkeep between real mops.
Which tier should I buy?
For most homes, the best robot vacuum Malaysia shoppers can get under RM1,500 is a Tier 3 all-in-one, because washing mop pads is the chore people get tired of first.
Do I need LiDAR?
Yes, and it no longer costs much extra. Every Shopee Mall model we checked under RM1,500 had it.
Will it handle my cat’s fur?
Yes, but expect to pull tangled hair off the main brush now and then. Look for “anti-tangle” brushes. An auto-empty base (Tier 2 or 3) helps a lot, as fur fills a small bin quickly.
Should I buy at 11.11 or wait for 12.12?
The best robot vacuum Malaysia deals usually show up at both sales.
